On Friday March 23rd, come to Movie Night from 7 - 9 p.m.

The epic film Amazing Grace with Michael Gambon and Albert Finney will be shown.  This 2006 movie is the inspiring story of how one man's passion and perseverance changed the world.  Based on the true story of William Wilburforce,  Amazing Grace follows his courageous quest to end the British slave trade.  Along the way, Wilburforce meets intense opposition from members of Parliament, but his minister, John Newton, a reformed slave ship captain who penned the beloved hymn "Amazing Grace" urges him to see the cause through.  It is a beautifully filmed and inspiring story for all interested in any social justice issue. Dessert and  a discussion will follow the film.

On Saturday night, March 24th, the Reverence for Life and Environmental Leadership Teams will co-sponsor a Dinner and Speaker Night.   Our speaker, the Reverend Gary Kowalski, will speak on the "The Inherent Worth of Every Being:Expanding Our Interdependent Web“.  Rev. Kowalski asks us  "Why care about other species when there is so much human need?  Because so many of those human problems, from patriarchy to destruction of the environment, spring from our estrangement from nature.  Recovering our identity, not as lords of creation, but as co-equal members of the larger Earth Community, is vital to our personal happiness and collective survival.”

Lasagna Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m.  $10 adults, children under 12 free.  BYO wine/beer/juice. RSVP required by March 19th for dinner to kdshane1@verizon.net

Reverend Kowalski’s presentation is open to all 7:15 pm without a reservation.
