The Social Action Community (SAC) Grants Committee works to actively express our UU social justice commitment and our First Parish benediction.  The Grants Committee manages the distribution of 7.5% of pledge income collected annually by First Parish in Concord.  The Committee consists of First Parish member volunteers who review Grant Requests proposed by First Parish members and determine the dollar amount awarded.  Currently chaired by Wendy Holt, the Committee reports to the Social Action Program Director, Faith Bade.

Application:The Grants Request Form can be found here. This application can either be mailed or emailed to Grants Committee chair Wendy Holt.  Please allow time for the application to be received prior to the application deadline (October 15 and March 15 of each year). Committee members:  A listing of current Grants Committee members, who are active, pledging members of our congregation.

History:  This section provides a list of awards granted since fiscal year 2005.   The Grants are awarded twice yearly, in the fall and spring, with an occasional special Grant made at other times in response to a crisis worldwide or an unusual event.  

Special Grants History Project Completed:First Parish members Dave Dawson & John Lowe completed a comprehensive history of the SAC Grants Program for our all-church 375th birthday celebration in October 2011.  This history project can be found by clicking here .   

Requests/Comments:This section is open to First Parish members to allow for comments on the pending Grant applications.  This comment section is typically open during the 1-2 weeks after the Grant applications have been received and prior to the SAC Grants Commmittee meeting to review the applications and determine the awards. 

Projects Funded: This section highlights some of the projects funded over the years by SAC Grants. This is an incomplete list yet it does reflect the depth and breadth of the grant awards, given both locally, nationally, and internationally.
